SUSTAINABILITY

Society

Our purpose: to contribute value to society by driving the healthcare sector forward through a commitment to excellence in innovation, education, and research.

Teaching

HM Hospitales’ contribution to society is not limited to the provision of healthcare services; it also acts as a clear driver of local development, such as by fostering employment through people’s employability by enabling their training and skills development.

HM Hospitales has created its own academic network that covers both the professional training provided at the Center for Training in Biosanitary Professions and the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in conjunction with Camilo José Cela University, under whose agreement the HM Faculty of Health Sciences has been established.

Research and social impact initiatives

Research, both basic and clinical, is present in the day-to-day activity of HM Hospitales through the HM Hospitales Research Foundation as a non-profit entity with the primary objective of managing biosanitary R&D&I within the framework of translational research. The highest expression of our commitment to translational research is embodied in the annual International Medical Sciences Award, the Doctor Juan Abarca “Abarca Prize.”

The HM Foundation’s commitment to society goes beyond research, as it also carries out scientific dissemination and health education through the organization of scientific forums and the publication of monographs for patients. Finally, it facilitates access to specialized care for children from disadvantaged groups through the Fundación HM Obra Social Nens.
