This month spans from fertilization to the implantation of the embryo, during which the first cells that will develop into your baby are formed.
The journey begins. Your baby implants in the uterus, and its vital organs—such as the heart and nervous system—begin to form.
Your baby’s heart is already beating strongly. Their arms and legs are beginning to become distinguishable, and they are already moving, although you may not feel it yet.
Your baby already has a human form, and most of its organs are almost fully formed. This is the month of the first important ultrasound to date the pregnancy.
You begin to feel your baby’s first kicks. During this month’s anatomy ultrasound, we’ll confirm that your baby’s body is developing properly.
Your baby can now hear your voice. Their senses become more refined and their movements more evident. You will feel full of energy.
Your baby gains weight and their lungs mature, a crucial step for their life outside the womb. It’s time for the gestational diabetes test.
The countdown begins. Your baby moves into position for birth and their brain develops at a dizzying pace.
Your baby continues to gain fat and mature their lungs. You may notice that they “drop” into the pelvis, getting ready for birth.
Your baby is ready to meet you! From week 37 onwards, your baby is considered full term. Now they are simply focused on gaining weight for the big day.
